The 10 Commandments

Do you know your 10 commandments?

Do you know who God gave the 10 Commandments to?

Do you know when God gave them? Some 3800 years ago!

But do you know where in the Bible the 10 commandments are?

And do you know how many times they are listed in it?

Do you know 2x5 = ? Of course you do!

But why does 2x5 have anything to do with the location of the Ten Commandments in the Old Testament?

Well let’s try to answer these questions.

But first, how many tablets were the 10 Commandments written on? Answer: 2. Notice that 2x5=10.

How many times did God give the Commandments? Answer: 2 times.

Now where in the Bible are the 10 Commandments? Remember, were still working with the numbers 2x5 So we look in the book 2 on the Bible called the book of Exodus and we go to chapter 20 (2x10=20) and we find the first listing of the 10 commandments EXODUS CHAPTER 20. Now we look at the 5^th book of the Bible, it’s called the book of Deuteronomy and we find the 2^nd listing - DEUTERONOMY CHAPTER 5.

So what we have learned? The 10 Commandment listed 2 times in the Old Testament. The first in the second book of the Bible called Exodus chapter 20 and the chapter in the 5^th book of the Bible Deuteronomy Chapter 5.
